18 years back when I was in Kenya, joined MS in Computer science, and the first trimester is common for all of us taking on DBMS, Networks and Security, Generic Computer science, and then Artificial Intelligence. When I started learning the topic and especially classes by an esteemed professor, I started realizing AI is not only 007 and Stephen Spielberg movies. I chose AI after the common trimester

The remaining 2 years almost took me on a wonderful journey of AI with paramount interest and surprises, but still skeptical as to whether these things will work. Still remember the days when my friends used to argue as to these are theoretical and not going to work at least in our lifetime

Has it changed a lot in the past 16 years?? I must admit not much but came a long way to a situation where people now talk and discuss AI turning it into a common subject. Still, a long way to go though, was I be able to use everything I learned, no not really. But now I can talk to somebody about my plans and dreams and to see my knowledge and what my professor taught takes off to another horizon.

My dreams – bring AI to the common man to help him in his life, be it be his job, finances, the health you tell it… An absolute necessity now in the new scenario since we are not sure our life span will see only COVID-19, maybe quite a few catastrophes yet to be faced, AI should help us if not seeing those coming early, but fighting those out in all scenarios of life. My think button has been switched on to move on and spreading the knowledge and usefulness of AI and what lies under that big umbrella.
